For over 25 years I have worked with students on college planning, college selection and college applications. I have extensive knowledge of private and public colleges in California and throughout the United States.
I work on an hourly basis so families may use me when my services will be most helpful to them. Families meet with me on average between four and six times during their high school years; however, I am pleased to meet with students for fewer or more appointments.
My fee is $180 an hour.
I often meet with 9th and 10th grade students, and one appointment each year for planning purposes is ordinarily adequate. I normally begin the college selection process with students the summer after their sophomore year, but some families wish to start sooner.
Junior year is the college research year when I work with students to identify colleges they would be interested in pursuing and to target appropriate SAT and ACT testing dates, as needed. During the summer after junior year and the fall of senior year, most appointments focus on the final college list and the application process.
I prepare an application timeline for my students and help them develop strong college essays. In the spring of the senior year, it may be helpful to meet and discuss the student’s final college decision.
I do accept new students at any time in their college process, and sometimes I provide a second opinion.
I also counsel transfer students, as working with students wishing to transfer has been and continues to be a part of my business.
Please contact me with your questions about my services or to set up an appointment.
